As can be seen, the situation of wearing glasses in college is more severe than in high school or senior high school. Just taking our dormitory for example, there’s only one of our four girls not wearing glasses and her eye-sight is now gradually becoming more and more poor. To other words, more and more students are getting closer to glasses and even we can say that glasses are necessities in student’s life.
A few years ago when I was in elementary school, glasses were still unusual to be seen, I remember. At that time, there were about 60 students in our class, including 4 or 5 students wearing glasses. However, there’re only 31 students in my new class, but about 2/3 of them all wear glasses. From these great changes, we must have realized how severe the present situation of students’ eye-sight is! Wearing glasses becomes more and more common, and the students’ eye-sight becomes more and more poor.
Faced with this, we must take immediate action to prevent all this. First of all, we students must do our own bits. There’s no doubt that our poor eye-sight results from the bad learning habits. Since we started school, when we were only three or four years old, we’ve been told to form the good habits of learning, including reading, writing and so on. But take a look at us now, you’ll know the reasons why we all wear glasses, we don’t follow the teachers, instead, we read, write just as we like, regardless of its bad effect. So, what’s the most important is that we should correct our bad habits and replace them with good learning habits, just as we’ve been told. We must set an example for our young brothers or sisters and even sons or daughters in the future.
Then it is teacher’s responsibility to make the students form good habits, especially the teachers in primary school where the students started to learn. At the beginning, teachers should take care to help students form good learning habits, which will be of benefit during all their lives. At least they can get away from glasses, which without doubt will be inconvenient.
Last but not the least; our government should do something for us. To tell the truth, in our country, students’ burdens are too heavy. Getting up early and staying up late into night is no doubt a main reason causing students’ poor eye-sights.
Glasses are now my necessities. However, I hope that someday I can unnecessarily wear glasses and more and more students won’t wear glasses. |
